Microsoft and Google bring bad news for the economy

The company’s Q2 reporting season is in full swing. And big tech, wanting to avoid any unpleasant surprises, isn’t waiting to tell investors how a sharp economic slowdown could hurt its performance in the coming months.

The tech industry doesn’t seem to be overly optimistic about the economy either.

“We will slow the pace of hiring for the remainder of the year while supporting our most important opportunities,” Google said (Google) – Get Alphabet Inc’s report Managing Director Sundar Pichai wrote in a July 12 memo to employees.
